Membership

Why membership?

The only true criteria for membership in the body of Christ is salvation. When a person is saved, he or she is placed by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-14). Thus formal membership is not compulsory. However, this work of God of placing the Christian into the body of Christ is the reason we find membership compelling - it is a tangible commitment representing this spiritual reality. Furthermore, we find local church membership to be a valuable practice and an indispensable vehicle for ministry (e.g., Acts 2:37-47; Acts 6:1-6; 1 Timothy 5:3-16; 1 Corinthians 5:1-8).

How do I become a member?

Becoming a member of Coram Deo Fellowship actually begins with prayer and participation. Have you attended Coram Deo frequently enough to know what we're about? And have you prayed whether the Lord would have you commit yourself (and perhaps your family) to this community of believers?

If you are prayerfully considering Coram Deo Fellowhip to be your church-home or simply curious, you will want to meet informally with a couple of Coram Deo's elders. This is simply an opportunity for us to get to know you and for you learn what is most precious to us, meet some of our leadership, and ask questions. Please call the church office or speak with any of the elders on a Sunday morning.

A final step would be to sign a Covenant of Fellowship which articulates a commitment from you, but also a commitment from the church's leadership to you!
