Joy For The Humble
Luke 1:39-56
Having received the angel's announcement, Mary rushes off to visit her relative, Elizabeth, whose pregnancy in old age is a confirmation from the Lord that he will likewise do the impossible in Mary. These verses are saturated with joy and the activity of the Holy Spirit. John's leap in the womb, Elizabeth's blessing for Mary, and Mary's song of praise all point to the special place of Mary's coming child. Her child is the herald of great joy.
