Luke 2:21-40

After Mary's confinement according to the Law of Moses, she and Joseph travel to Jerusalem to offer sacrifices and present Jesus to the Lord as their firstborn. They are greeted by two faith-filled, Spirit-filled saints who testify to the child's identity. It is ironic: Mary and Joseph come to the temple to present Jesus to the Lord; the Holy Spirit brings Simeon and Anna to the temple to present Jesus to the lost. Simeon's prophecy reveals Jesus' mission to the Gentiles and the division he will bring to Israel.
