The Greatness of John

Luke 1:57-80

In Jesus' day it may have been a temptation to think too much of John. We probably make too little of him. But Jesus would call John "more than a prophet" and say that "among those born of women none is greater than John," (Luke 7). John's greatness is even rooted in the events surrounding his birth.
