Week of Prayer 2012
2012 Week of Prayer
January 8 - 12
Every year in early January Coram Deo Fellowship emphasizes prayer. We encourage the church body to participate in a number of scheduled "avenues" of prayer including a day of fasting and an evening of family-prayer.
Such a weeklong emphasis cannot, of course, replace the regular, fervent prayers of God's people the rest of the year, but this week serves as a reminder of how vital prayer is for the life of the believer and an encouragement to faithfully practice this spiritual discipline.
Saturday / 1.08.12
PRAYER IN THE WORD. Pastor Joseph will exposit a passage of Scripture pertaining to prayer.
Monday / 1.09.12
FAMILY PRAYER. We encourage families to spend a special time together praying. For helps, go here.
Tuesday / 1.10.12
FASTING. Will you fast in prayer today? We suggest fasting from after dinner Monday night until dinner Tuesday night. We also suggest you consider other things that you might need to put aside - other things that might be a substitute for God. For some thoughts on fasting.
A Word of Caution...
You should not fast (i.e. from food) if your health does not allow.
The Elder Team will spend this evening in prayer for all in the Coram Deo Fellowship and break the fast together. Please communicate any specific prayer requests for you or your family to Larry Byrne.
Wednesday / 1.11.12 / 7:00 p.m.
House of Prayer. Tonight we gather at the church to seek God together in united prayer. Between 7:00 and 8:00 the elders will intermix times of focused prayer, individual personal prayer, singing and scripture reading. Come for all or part of the time.
Organized childcare will not be provided. However, Room #13 will be open and available for children to play. We encourage parents to alternate watching one another's children, joining prayer in the sanctuary in turns.
Truth. Worship. Transformation. Community.
